About Which Hostel?

Which Hostel? is a guide for backpackers and budget travellers choosing where to stay. Hostel booking sites are good at showing you hundreds of options. We want to help you pick one.

Each city page lists every hostel we know of, on one map. We are adding ratings, live prices and short lists for different kinds of trip: the best overall, the cheapest, the best for meeting people, and the best for a quiet night.

Where the data comes from

Hostel names, locations and addresses come from OpenStreetMap, the free map of the world built by volunteers. If you spot a missing or closed hostel, you can fix it on OpenStreetMap and it will reach us on our next update.

How we make money

Some links on this site will be affiliate links to booking sites. If you book through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never decide which hostels we list or recommend.
